Power

ItemStatusNotes
Power cordMissingStandard PC power cord needed. May have spares on hand.
Estimated idle draw~20–25 Wi5 SFF baseline
Estimated peak draw (combined workload)~85–95 W2x 3.5” HDD spinup + 10GbE + capture + CPU busy

Notes

  • Purchased as a barebones system unit (no HDD, unknown RAM, no power cord)
  • Dell OptiPlex 5060 SFF uses standard ATX power cord (C13/C14)
  • DDR4 SO-DIMM is laptop memory. Desktop OptiPlex 5060 SFF uses DDR4 UDIMM.
  • Check on arrival: RAM installed? CPU exact model? BIOS status? PSU wattage (200W vs 260W — impacts 2x 3.5” HDD safety margin, but only 1x 3.5” is internal in the planned layout so 200W is fine)
  • ConnectX-3 and Elgato 4K Pro Mk2 are planned additions (not yet purchased/staged at time of writing)
  • GM role migrates here from SERVER-PC WSL (was at configs/ptp/gm.cfg) — runs natively on Ubuntu 24.04, which also unblocks HW timestamping via the I219-LM PHC (WSL2 blocker, see smpte-2110-lab ptp-timing topic)
